Brexit: from a slow drip to a full-on leak
27 September 2017On 5 September 2017, the Home Office Post-Brexit Immigration Document was leaked to the public. The document – the exact publication date of which we do not know – provides a screenshot of government policy towards EU nationals and their non-EU family members. The document talks about how those individuals will be affected at three separate stages: (1) those in the UK ‘before exit’, (2) those who come to the UK during the ‘implementation phase’, and (3) those who arrive ‘after the implementation period’.

BA’s sky-high fine for GDPR breach
09 July 2019British Airways (BA) are potentially facing a £183m fine by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for breaches of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) following last year’s cyber-attack. The actual amount of the fine will be determined after representations are made by BA and by other supervisory authorities.

Hong Kong’s MPF Authority launches e-platform to simplify MPF administration for employers and employees
26 July 2024The Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Schemes Authority (“MPFA”) has commenced a major overhaul of the Hong Kong pensions system with the launch of the eMPF Platform in June 2024. The eMPF Platform is a centralised electronic platform designed to streamline MPF administration for employers, employees and MPF trustees. This is the largest reform of the MPF system since its inception in December 2000.
