Media and entertainment team recognised as best-in-class, with nine other teams moving up the ranks as well

LONDON – City law firm Lewis Silkin LLP has made significant gains for a number of its teams and specialisms in the latest Legal 500 rankings.

Among the most significant recognitions is the fact that the firm’s media and entertainment offering has been named in Tier 1, making it the only addition to the top tier in that category. The team’s breadth of expertise in digital media and brand entertainment has led to it working with some of the biggest names in mobile, computer and casual gaming, online music, entertainment and news portals as well as market leaders in the branded content market, broadcast networks, online channels and social talent.

The firm has also retained its Tier 1 ranking in brand management and three sub-categories of employment (employers, senior executives and Thames Valley), underscoring the firm’s historical strength in these key practice areas.

In addition, nine other practice areas rose up the ranks, including commercial contracts, defamation and privacy, immigration, and commercial property. The firm was also recognised as amongst the best in the area of data protection, a new category for this year’s ranking.

Published annually, Legal 500 is one of the most authoritative and respected rankings of legal expertise, with a methodology heavily influenced by peer review and client feedback.

Ian Jeffery, managing partner at Lewis Silkin LLP, said:

“We are delighted with the results of this year’s Legal 500 ranking, with even greater recognition for our specialist teams. We continue to deliver market-leading performance in such areas as brand management and employment, and the acknowledgment of our media and entertainment offering as truly best-in-class now reflects its strong growth over recent years. Overall the rankings illustrate the hard work of our dedicated team, and their commitment to providing outstanding expertise, support and advice to our clients across our key focus sectors.”
