Lewis Silkin took on this case pro bono and reversed the decision of the Department for Education to revoke the students’ confirmed loans of £37,000.
The Department for Education had misinterpreted the Education Regulations 2011 when withdrawing student finance from the students on the grounds that the paramedic element of their course disqualified them.
