Lewis Silkin is switching last year’s beautiful Welsh scenery for a double-marathon through the streets of London
19 September 2019
Tomorrow, on World Alzheimer's Day, Lewis Silkin will be taking part in its annual charity fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The firm will be walking the length of the Central Line, from West Ruislip to Epping:
- 2 teams
- 9+ gruelling hours
- 37 stations
- Over 52 miles
A team will start from each end of the Central Line, navigating their way to each station over a tough 26.2 mile route and finishing in Chancery Lane, home to Lewis Silkin's London Office.
Just walking, sounds easy right? Not so. Each team will be covering a marathon distance over mixed terrain of farmland, industrial estates, canals and the smoggy streets of London
Every one of us knows someone who has suffered from a form of dementia. Alzheimer's is a mind-crippling disease and Alzheimer's Research UK (ARUK) is the UK's leading charity in searching for a cure to dementia. Backed by passionate scientists and supporters, they are challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure.
We are looking to raise at least £10,000 to help fund ARUK's mission to bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025. Any and all donations are very greatly received and can be made on the event’s dedicated Just Giving page.
Those taking part from across the firm are: Amanda Bedding, Anna Whaley, Barbara Cox, Caroline Davis, Corey Edwards, Cory Lyons, Cristiana Barone, David Lyons, Eamon Connor, Elyssia White, Ellen Temperton, Georgina Fraser, Graeme Wood, Haron Sahak, Ian Jeffrey, Jessica Bowman, Kathryn Denyer, Kayleigh Williams, Lauren Shrubb, Leonie Sheridan, Lily-Rose Scargill, Lisa Ould-Issa, Lizzie Lee, Lowri Williams, Lucy Lewis, Matthew Lamb, Michael Williams, Nicola Mallett, Oliver Watson, Paul Norris, Penny Newman, Rob Johnson, Saffron O'Gorman, Sam Pennington, Sara Levy, Simon Entwistle, Siobhan Ridley, Sophie Jamieson and Victoria Owrid.
