In memory of Ellen Temperton
25 March 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce that on Friday 20 March our dear friend and Partner, Ellen Temperton, passed away following a long illness.
Ellen was a brilliant lawyer and was a pleasure to work with. She was popular and admired across the whole firm, by her clients and by many people across the legal profession.
Ellen practised employment, partnership and data law in the city for two decades. Ellen began her career at Macfarlanes and developed her expertise in employment law at Baker & McKenzie before joining Lewis Silkin as a Partner in 2009. Over the course of her eleven years with Lewis Silkin, Ellen was best known for her expert handling of high value disputes, with an emphasis on both discrimination issues and disputes between professional services firms and their partners. Ellen was a leading expert in workplace data privacy issues, and she was Chair of the firm’s Data Privacy group.
Throughout her illness she stayed true to who she was; a fun colleague and a good friend to many of us; a trusted adviser to her clients; and a truly brave person.
Ellen leaves a loving husband and two children, who meant the world to her. Our thoughts are with them at this time of unfathomable loss.
The firm has made a donation to Sarcoma UK in Ellen’s memory.
