Please join us for our first In-House Data Club of 2021 where we will discuss what we have learned in the last 12 months about data breaches. Our focus will be on prevention as well as the defensive narrative if the worst does occur. We will be joined for part of the session by cyber security specialists CYFOR, who will share some insights on the threat landscape.
In this session we will: (1) mine some of the key data breach fines issued by UK and EU regulators over the last year with a view to better understanding their expectations when it comes to cyber security; and (2) take a look at the EDPB’s new “Guidelines on Examples regarding Data Breach Notification”.
- What went wrong in those breaches? What went right?
- What works and what doesn’t when engaging with regulators following a breach?
Lewis Bloomberg, commercial manager at CYFOR, will also be on hand to discuss some of the key threats to look out for in the coming months and how to mitigate them.
The LS In-House Data Club, for in-house counsel and data protection practitioners, is intended to be interactive and a discussion forum to share experiences with your contemporaries in an informal Chatham House style.
The event will take place via WebEx, if you would like to register or a colleague would like to attend, please contact events@lewissilkin.com.
