Lewis Silkin advises Blend Media on successful seed funding
17 February 2017
Lewis Silkin is advising innovative content start-up Blend Media on its growth strategy, and has helped the company to complete its latest round of funding.
Blend Media is the leading provider and curator of premium 360ᵒ videos and virtual reality films - available to license for use in campaigns across social media, virtual reality headsets and WebVR. The company also manages a global network of expert 360ᵒ video creators, and hosts the largest 360ᵒ videos page on Facebook.
Working alongside Lewis Silkin’s skilled and highly commercial corporate advisers, Blend Media has successfully secured funding from investors from a range of leading digital and media companies, including ITN Productions, The LADBible Group and Maker Studios.
Corporate partner Paul Rajput led the Lewis Silkin team on the project, and also assisted the Blend Media CEO and founder with previous venture Viral Spiral, the social video and brand engagement specialist, which was acquired in 2014 by Rightster PLC (now Brave Bison PLC). Other team members include corporate tax partner Sara Cohen and corporate senior associate Barnaby Stokes.
Lewis Silkin’s involvement with Blend Media is yet another example of the firm’s ever growing presence in the technology sector. Over the past 12 months, the team has expanded significantly with the addition of five technology focused partners, and has become core partners in start-up initiatives such as Startup Grind, Collider, FinTech50 and General Assembly. Lewis Silkin is quickly becoming the “go-to” firm for innovative start-ups, as well as the most celebrated global brands in the tech and media sectors.
Paul Rajput, corporate partner at Lewis Silkin said:
“We are delighted with the progress made with Blend Media so far, and it’s a real pleasure to work with Damian again.
Our specialist team has a proven track record across the tech, media and advertising sectors, and particularly where these sectors converge. This, alongside our connections into some of the world’s top brands and partnerships – including with Start-Up Grind and Collider – in the entrepreneur community, enables us to offer a best-in-class, yet flexible service to start-ups and market innovators.
It’s extremely gratifying to see investors react positively to Blend Media’s proposition, which is at the cutting edge of media, digital and advertising, and I look forward to seeing its continued growth and success.”
Damian Collier, Blend Media CEO and founder, added:
“Lewis Silkin once again delivered a first class service, in this instance across both its Corporate and Employee Incentives teams. Paul Rajput and Sara Cohen, in particular, were a pleasure to deal with and provided invaluable support to me and the company, navigating often complex legal issues and providing strategic commercial input, whilst at all times recognising the specific needs of a start-up, sometimes with reasonably limited resources. I look forward to working with them on Blend's future activity, and challenges.”
