Lewis Silkin, leading law firm and go-to advisers for the creative industries, has partnered with Collider, the leading tech accelerator dedicated to martech & adtech startups.
The partnership is spearheaded by the firm’s Technology and Advertising & Marketing sector groups and builds on the firm’s expertise within the tech and marketing arenas.
Collider invests capital in the startups, coaches them through a highly structured programme and connects them to potential corporate customers and investors. Outside of Collider, Lewis Silkin works with agencies, brands, publishers, social talent, retailers, tech companies and investors, from startups through growth stage to multi nationals, and counts among its clients many of the other partners in the Collider network, including Unilever, Dunnhumby, Haymarket and BBC Worldwide.
As part of the partnership, Lewis Silkin partners David Deakin and David Willbe will support the cohort with training, workshops, 1-2-1 surgeries and the benefit of the firm’s experience of working with 100’s of early stage and growth companies, and the people and funds who invest in them. The aim is to help the cohort plan their legal priorities for the next 6-12 months, whether they are preparing for investment, securing their IP, employing contractors or negotiating their first deal with commercial partners.
David Deakin, partner at Lewis Silkin LLP, commented:
"We are very excited to partner with Collider - their pure focus on ad and marketing tech, and companies that build disruptive platforms, products and services for brands sits perfectly with our converged expertise across the creative industries sector. The network of investors, and corporate brands that they work with is impressive and indicates the quality of the accelerator overall.”
Andy Tait, Co-Founder of Collider:
"We’re really enjoying and are benefiting from our new working partnership with David Deakin, David Willbe and the wider team at Lewis Silkin. Their ability to quickly get to the relevant points and offer the right insights comes from great experience of our industry, which is incredibly valuable to our startups and indeed Collider. We appreciate the effort the team make to come to events and get involved, adding to their network and that of Collider.
We have much to work on ahead and look forward to broadening our engagement over the course of 2017 and beyond.”
