Lewis Silkin invites you to our 2018/19 series of roundtable discussions exclusively for General Counsel, COLPs and Risk and Compliance officers in Professional Services firms.
Data breaches create headlines. Professional Service firms, who rely on a reputation of discretion and care over their clients affairs, cannot afford the reputational damage of being the ones making the news. The GDPR has introduced a greater compliance burden and bigger fines, as well as further record keeping obligations and onerous reporting requirements.
In this session we will discuss some of the new concepts introduced by GDPR in relation to data breaches. When does the mandatory reporting requirement arise? When, if ever, is it not necessary to report? We will also focus on how professional services firms need to manage the interplay between reporting to the data regulator, their own insurers, and professional regulatory bodies such as the SRA, as well as the measures which should be taken to prevent and respond to a breach.
