In the next of our Lewis Silkin Ireland IHELC meetings, which will be a breakfast session on Tuesday 10th September, we will focus on a round-up of the higher profile decisions from the WRC and the Superior Courts impacting employment law over the last year.

During this session, we will discuss the impact of the Supreme Court decision in Karshan and how this has been applied by the WRC, the recent Labour Court decision in the Debenhams appeal which brings further clarity to employers' consultation obligations in a redundancy situation and the recent Supreme Court decision of Mallon v Minister for Justice and its impact on the use of mandatory retirement ages. With an increased number of high-award decisions being made by the WRC in recent times, we will also consider why this is the case and whether this is a trend we can expect to continue.
