As other countries take their first steps out of lockdown, the Irish government announced that from 18th May lockdown restrictions would begin to be relaxed. We have also seen the publication of the roadmap for reopening society and business, and the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation also published the Return to Work Safely Protocol with its seven steps for getting back to work.

During this session we will look at the Protocol’s requirements in terms of health and safety, but also, the consultation obligations for businesses. We will be joined by Health and Safety Consultant Keith Foran who will provide practical insight into his own experience of helping employers get back to work this week, and the speedbumps to look out for. We will also address the employment issues that the Protocol doesn’t cover including testing employees, data protection issues and the options for employers if employees refuse to or can’t return to work.
