I act for companies, partnerships, utility companies, banks, local authorities and statutory bodies, insolvency practitioners, professional sportspeople and clubs, barristers and solicitors advising on complex disputes and regulatory and disciplinary problems.

Dispute Resolution

I conduct matters in all the civil courts both first instance and appellate and also through arbitration (LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL, Sports and Professional Regulatory Bodies and ad hoc). Resolution of disputes is sought in a cost effective manner to achieve client objectives and in the majority of disputes by intelligent use of Alternative Dispute techniques such as Expert Determination or formal Mediation.

My clients are mainly found in the legal and accountancy professions but are also in property and financial services. I act for solicitors, solicitor firms, accountants, accountancy firms, insolvency practitioners, barristers and barristers’ Chambers in disputes, disciplinary and regulatory matters. I also advise regularly in disputes concerning solicitors’, barristers’ and experts’ fees and detailed assessment.

Technology Transactions & Outsourcing

I have acted for many types of business advising on the procurement of IT systems, the design and supply of computer systems and telecoms equipment, disputes regarding proprietorship of software copyright and development contracts, and claims against designers and consultants. Matters include the recovery of a complex analytical software engine that enables rapid analysis and correlation of vast amounts of data in diverse and fragmented network server systems, disputes regarding utility metering systems and apparatus and a dispute regarding the installation of despatch and communications systems in London black cabs.
