LS In-house launched GC offering

07 February 2018

As one of the first law firm offerings of its kind, LS In-house has seen a fivefold increase in its flexible resourcing service since its inception in 2013. LS In-house supports clients’ existing in house legal teams with large projects, surges in work or cover for an existing team member’s absence, by providing lawyers to work as part of the client team, in their offices for as long as required.

Last year saw the addition of Lewisilkinhouse:GC to complement the existing offering, responding to client demand for GC level legal support. This service offers senior strategic in house support from lawyers with previous in-house counsel experience, to provide flexible legal support either as a dedicated part-time resource or as an interim general counsel.

The LS In-house:GC team has worked on many assignments across various sectors, including supporting contract negotiations, strategic structuring, internal process and policy matters, as well as key projects involving regulatory development.

Head of LS In-house, Liz Kilcoyne, says “this type of integrated legal consultancy can help provide sophisticated and cost effective month to month support. We’re finding more and more organisations are looking for a flexible solution to their senior, strategic legal needs and that’s where LS In-house:GC can help.”

LS In-house GC David Deakin explains “as an experienced lawyer in both private practice and in house, I am well versed in providing hands on advice to improve the value an in house legal function can bring to a business.”
