Lewis Silkin advises Descours & Cabaud in the acquisition for its subsidiary Hayley 247 of Lamond & Murray

25 July 2019

Lewis Silkin has advised its existing client Descours & Cabaud in the acquisition for its subsidiary, Hayley 247, of Fife based company Lamond & Murray, which completed on 4 June 2019.

Lamond & Murray was formed in 1921 by Charles Lamond & Walter Murray to manufacture haulages or winding equipment for the nearby mining industry. Lamond & Murray is seen as a natural extension to mechanical engineering services provider Hayley 247, who specialise in everything from industrial gearbox repair, general mechanical repairs, CNC machining to custom fabrication. The acquisition will enable Hayley 247 to enhance its offer to their clients and those serviced via Hayley Group's 50 strong branch network.

The cross-departmental Lewis Silkin team was led by corporate partner Paul Rajput, corporate tax partner Matthew Rowbotham, corporate associate Georgina Fraser and employment associate Tom McEvoy.

Commenting on the transaction, Paul says:

"We are pleased to have advised Descours & Cabaud for the fourth time on a M&A transaction. This is a further confirmation of our strong expertise and reputation in the manufacturing sector and experience dealing with French clients."

Mark Brady, Managing Director, Hayley 247, says:

"I was very pleased to have worked with Lewis Silkin once again. Paul and Georgina were extremely responsive and commercial throughout the transaction. I look forward to working with them in the future as Hayley 247 looks to continue to strengthen its position in the market."
