I am a Senior Associate in the Employment, Immigration and Reward division. I advise on both employment and immigration law. I have a particular interest in scenarios in which immigration and employment law risks interact.
Employment
I support both employers and employees from a wide range of sectors on a broad range of employment queries. I can help with all contentious and non-contentious employment issues, including contracts, policies, exits, status, discrimination, pay (including National Minimum Wage), transactions (including TUPE) and disciplinary, capability and grievance processes.
Immigration
I advise employers and individuals on immigration issues. I can support with individual applications (e.g. work visas, settled status, citizenship) and sponsor licence matters (e.g. applying for licences and compliance queries). I have particular expertise advising on right to work. I have a special interest in scenarios in which right to work issues interact – and sometimes conflict – with employment law risk. This includes:
- Discrimination risk that arises at the recruitment stage e.g. Can an employer reject a candidate who requires sponsorship?
- Risks that arise in an ongoing employment relationship e.g. Can an employer suspend or dismiss somebody who seems to have lost their right to work?
Sports
As a member of the firm’s Sports sector group, I work with some of the world’s leading clubs, players and sporting professionals. I advise on employment and immigration issues in the world of sports, including transfers, compliance and negotiations.
Qualifications
I qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales after completing my training at Lewis Silkin. I have a degree in Law from Cambridge University.
