The French Desk advised long term client Synergie, owner of the Acorn group of companies in the UK, on the disposal of its UK subsidiary Acorn Learning Solutions, the training arm of leading recruitment agency Acorn Recruitment, to the Welsh based training provider ACT, in January 2018.
The cross departmental French Desk team was led by corporate partner, and head of the firm’s French Desk, Marie-Caroline Frochot supported by corporate tax partner Matthew Rowbotham, as well as employment senior associate Richard Moore.
Synergie is an international group providing companies and institutions with global human resources management and development services: recruitment, temporary employment, training and consultancy. The Group supports companies and candidates with employment-related matters on a daily basis throughout the world.
Marie-Caroline advised Synergie on its first UK acquisition of the Acorn Group in December 2005 and has advised the group in the UK since.
Marie-Caroline Frochot said: “We are delighted to have supported such a long standing client in this transaction. It was a pleasure working closely with the management team of Acorn Recruitment and the Synergie team in Paris, to facilitate this disposal which will allow Acorn group in the UK to continue to focus on its core recruitment business.”
