I am an employment lawyer with particular experience in trans and non-binary issues in the workplace. I advise a range of clients, from law firms to arts organisations, and startups to individuals. I cover a wide range of employment law issues: hiring to termination and what happens in between.

As a Solicitor Advocate, I have higher rights of audience allowing me to carry out advocacy at the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court

I co-lead Lewis Silkin's LGBT+ group (Lewis SilkOut) which has a focus on celebrating, representing and protecting the rights of LGBT+ people both within the Firm and beyond

Experience

Trans & non-binary discrimination

  • Advising clients on employment law issues relating to trans and non-binary people , where I have particular experience, interest and expertise
  • Training and drafting policies relating to supporting trans and non-binary employees in the workplace

Employment

  • Providing pragmatic and commercial advice on day-to-day employment queries, such as grievances and disciplinaries, dismissals, TUPE and collective consultations and contract and policy reviews
  • Advising on Employment Tribunal litigation, including complex whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal cases
  • Guiding clients through the process and strategy of Employment Tribunal claims, and representing clients in both hearings and judicial mediations

Support for senior executives

  • Advising senior executives on negotiating terms of employment and negotiated exits, as well as representing individuals in Tribunal claims
