I am a Trainee Solicitor at Lewis Silkin, having commenced my training contract with the firm in September 2024. Currently based in the London office, I am undertaking my first seat in the Immigration department. I am also an active member of the firm's Gender group, Race & Ethnicity group, and Social Mobility group, through which I engage with initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and equitable opportunities within the firm.
With a multicultural background - being Lebanese, Palestinian, and Spanish, and having been born in America while growing up between Minnesota and Sierra Leone, I find immigration law particularly compelling. This field allows me to engage with diverse perspectives and issues that resonate with my personal experiences. I am fluent in English, Arabic, and Krio, and I speak Spanish conversationally, which enhances my ability to communicate effectively in various multicultural settings.
Beyond my work at the firm, I volunteer at the Greenwich Food Bank, contributing to community support efforts. I am also involved in the firm's commitment to The Hygiene Bank (City of London), where volunteers assemble hygiene packs for people experiencing hygiene poverty, providing essential support to those in need. Additionally, I support the firm's social mobility initiatives, helping to organise careers events in social mobility 'cold spots' across the UK. These events provide young people with insight into legal careers, and I contribute by drafting content for newsletters featuring career opportunities and resources to support students. I also assist with the London Schools' Law Career Sessions initiative, delivering presentations to students about the legal profession and guiding them on pathways into law.
I graduated with an upper second-class honours in Law LLB from the University of Leicester, where I also served as Chairperson of the Law Society. Following my undergraduate studies, I completed my LPC at BPP University in Holborn, London.
I have gained valuable experience in commercial law through vacation scheme placements at well-regarded law firms such as Farrer & Co, Clyde & Co, and Bird & Bird. These experiences have honed my skills in legal writing, document drafting, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
