- Providing strategic advice to employers and employees on navigating HR issues (e g conduct, performance and redundancy scenarios) and exits
- Negotiating, drafting and implementing employment contracts, policies and procedures
- Investigating and ensuring compliance with National Minimum Wage
- Supporting with the employment aspects of acquisitions and sales (whether share or asset sale)
Immigration
- Providing front-to-back support in applying for UK immigration permission (including work visas, settled status and citizenship)
- Applying for sponsor licences
- Ensuring compliance with sponsor licence obligations and right to work requirements
Dual employment and immigration issues
- Managing discrimination risks during recruitment (e.g. Can an employer reject candidates who would require sponsorship?)
- Navigating immigration risks that arise in an ongoing employment relationship (e.g. Can an employer suspend or dismiss somebody who appears not to have the right to work?)
- Advising on whether and how immigration costs can be shared between the employer and employee
