I have provided advice to clients in the workplace context for over a decade. I have a particular interest in data privacy, and now advise in the employment and privacy contexts, with a focus on all things workplace privacy.

I am a member of Ius Laboris' data privacy expert group and regularly contribute to articles and international advice in this field.

I advise clients across a broad range of sectors, but in particular, those in advertising & marketing, legal and professional services, media and tech.

Experience

Data, privacy & cyber

  • Advising on complex data subject access requests and other data subject rights and associated ICO complaints
  • Drafting data protection impact assessments in relation to high risk processing, such as implementing new technologies, processing large volumes of special data, or carrying out covert monitoring exercises
  • Advising on the use of AI, for example as a recruitment or performance management tool
  • Assisting clients with general compliance, for example privacy notices, retention policies, etc, in particular global policies for use by international businesses

Employment

  • Advising clients on general employment issues from hiring to firing and everything in between
  • Dealing with questions around discrimination and navigating tricky situations to reduce risk for clients
  • Advising clients on redundancy, disciplinary and performance issues

Investigations

  • Investigating allegations put to clients on their behalf by employees
  • Interviewing witnesses and fact-gathering to ensure a well-informed outcome
  • Drafting reports for clients setting out the facts in response to allegations
