I am an Associate at Lewis Silkin, based in the Belfast team.
During my training contract, I gained valuable experience in our Intellectual Property team, handling copyright and trademark infringement claims and honing my skills in drafting and negotiating settlement agreements. In my second seat with the Corporate team, I worked on a range of diverse transactions, including rights issues, buy-backs, acquisitions, investment rounds, and more significantly being afforded the opportunity to assist in the listing of a company on AIM.
For my final seat I have rejoined the Employment team in our Employment, Immigration and Rewards division. I have gained a hands-on experience in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, workplace investigations and tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, discrimination, bullying & harassment in the workplace, equal pay, and TUPE cases.
My role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including drafting pleadings, correspondence, settlement agreements, collating and managing bundles for hearing, reviewing extensive document volumes, and undertaking disclosure exercises. I also collaborate effectively with Counsel and Clients, conduct thorough legal research on Client queries, and have assisted in workplace investigations within the Investigations and Regulatory team.
I have a keen interest in all aspects of Employment law, particularly issues relating to discrimination, unfair dismissal, and disciplinary and grievance matters.
