I am a Senior Associate in the Employment team, advising on both contentious and non-contentious employment queries.
I support employers on all aspects of employment law including advising on day to day matters such as performance management, redundancies, grievances and terminations. I am also a member of our International Group so I will advise on and co-ordinate employment law advice in cooperation with our Ius Laboris colleagues, ranging from simple one-off employment queries to more complicated multi-country projects. I have also acted for a number of employers at the Employment Tribunal, in claims involving dismissal and discrimination as well as complex litigation relating to whistleblowing and anonymity orders.
A particular focus of my practice is advising on TUPE and atypical working matters:
- I advise on TUPE transfers, both the commercial agreements in place upon on outsourcing arrangement or a business sale or merger as well as advising HR on the practical steps that need to be taken during a TUPE transfer, such as benefits analysis and information and consultation obligations. Prior to my qualification as a solicitor, I worked in HR for three years for an IT services business, managing multiple TUPE transfers so I am able to use that practical experience when advising clients.
- I advise on all elements of atypical working, including freelancer arrangements, employment and tax status, IR35 and agency workers. I have particular expertise advising on apprenticeship arrangements and the rules surrounding their engagement, performance issues and termination.
