I am a European and UK Chartered Patent Attorney who primarily handles Chemical, Lifesciences, and Mechanical patents. I also handle European oppositions and infringement/validity opinion work.
I have a Masters degree in Chemistry from Oxford University. After university, I immediately trained with a firm of private practice Patent Attorneys in London before moving to the Intellectual Property department of a large US chemical company. I qualified as a Patent Attorney in 1999, then rejoined private practice with Ablett & Stebbing in 2001, becoming a Partner of the firm in 2003. I joined Lewis Silkin in 2019.
Manufacturing and Engineering
With a background in chemistry, my main interest is in chemicals and chemical manufacturing, across a variety of different industry sectors, including inorganic polymers, LCD/macromolecules, drug delivery materials, and industrial chemical processing. Over recent years, my practice has expanded into drug delivery devices, biochemistry, and medical devices more widely.
