I am a Paralegal in the Employment, Immigration and Rewards division based in Belfast.
I completed an MA in International Relations, with a focus on international human rights, at the end of 2018. After which, I joined Jones Cassidy Brett Solicitors as a paralegal, assisting the partners with all matters relating to NI/GB employment law. Having taken a career break and moving to live and work in Canada for two years, I have now returned home, reprising my previous role with Lewis Silkin in the Belfast office.
At Lewis Silkin I assist on a diverse range of employment issues, covering both NI and GB. I am often involved in a number of varying Tribunal and Court of Appeal cases, drafting correspondence and pleadings, reviewing legal documentation and conducting research into relevant case law and publications which may assist in our arguments.
Similarly, I have undertaken significant research into discrimination related issues to aid in the delivery of in-house training for clients, keeping them informed and up to date with new developments. I have also been involved in drafting advice for clients in relation to discrimination matters, as well as employee contracts.
I have a keen interest in all issues related to discrimination and equal pay, as well as disciplinary and grievance matters.
