As a Managing Practice Development Lawyer, a key part of my role is keeping track of developments in the fast-moving world of employment law and ensuring my colleagues are kept up to date on the changes and the practical implications for clients and their businesses.
A significant part of my time as a Managing Practice Development Lawyer is devoted to devising and organising our comprehensive training and development programme for our lawyers, as well as supporting the many client training events we hold. I also draft and update our standard documents (precedents) for the team to use in their day-to-day work and write articles for client publications on new employment law developments. I get involved in various knowledge management projects, including international know how projects with Ius Laboris, the alliance of international employment law firms.
I am also responsible for managing and co-ordinating our Future of Work Hub initiative and curating content for the futureofworkhub.info website. The Hub brings HR professionals, business leaders, futurists, academics and commentators together to explore their perspectives on the future of work. I have a particular interest in strategic human resources management in which I have an Advanced Level Diploma (CIPD).
