As a Senior Associate in the Employment team at our Leeds office, I specialise in delivering practical solutions to complex employment challenges
I work closely with clients to provide straight-forward, practical and commercial advice on a wide variety of employment issues.I have more than five years’ experience in:
- Conducting Employment Tribunal litigation for a wide range of employer clients, including in the appellate courts, with extensive experience in defending claims, for example unfair dismissal, complex discrimination, trade union detriment and whistleblowing. I also have experience in assisting with large-scale claims brought by multiple claimants.
- Advising on recruitment, employment contracts, directors' and senior executives' service agreements, restrictive covenants, and policies and procedures
- Advising on settlement negotiations, including senior exits, and negotiating and drafting settlement agreements
- Advising on redundancies, restructures, changes to terms and conditions and a broad range of industrial relations matters
- Providing employment support on corporate transactions, including share/asset sales and property transactions
- Working with clients on dedicated 'helplines' and to assist them with their day-to-day employment queries, including disciplinary matters, grievances, and capability processes
I am also part of Lewis Silkin’s Investigations Group. We conduct complex and highly sensitive workplace investigations for a range of organisations. This includes interviewing witnesses, identifying relevant evidence and writing reports on our findings. I also advise employers on how to manage investigations and respond appropriately to their findings.
And I regularly provide training to clients, both on general updates and more bespoke topics.
