I have been working with clients in the creative, media & entertainment industries for over ten years. My time in-house over the years, including at a media agency, premier league football club, model agency and theatre, means I bring a sharp commercial focus to my work in these spaces. My own personal love of the creative arts, especially music, means I also bring a genuine passion to my work.
As a commercial lawyer in this space, most of my work involves advising clients on protecting, using, marketing and leveraging various IP rights. I work with clients across a number of different fields, but my practice is primarily centred around music, fashion, talent, and media.
I have a special focus on music in particular, especially the convergence of music and brands. I help clients navigate rights clearances for live events and marketing campaigns; negotiate agreements with artists, writers, labels and publishers; as well as advising on all of the peripheral points such as venue agreements, advertising regulatory issues, technology and supplier agreements. I also work with clients looking to invest in music through the acquisition of various music-related rights and catalogues.
I am a strong advocate for responsible business within the legal community and currently co-chair our Pro Bono Committee.
