I am a specialist in advertising and marketing law.
I work as a part-time legal consultant for Lewis Silkin from my home in the beautiful Dordogne region of France, where I also own and manage a large holiday Gîte.
I initially joined Lewis Silkin in 2006, qualifying in 2008 into the Brands and Intellectual Property group where I worked in the Advertising & Brands and Intellectual Property groups for several years before being seconded to Marks & Spencer for a year, working on advertising clearance, marketing and IP. Following that I moved to Hiscox Insurance where I was a Claims Underwriter, handling Professional Indemnity claims for Media and Technology clients. In 2016, I moved to France to start a Gîte holiday business and returned part-time to the Lewis Silkin family in 2017.
Advertising & Marketing
My Advertising & Marketing work covers 3 main areas:
- Clearance: Pre-publication advice about the legal and regulatory issues that arise from advertising and sales promotion campaigns including advertising regulation, intellectual property, defamation, consumer and gambling laws.
- Regulatory: Dealing with the Advertising Standards Authority, Clearcast, the RACC, Ofcom and various Ombudsmen
- Dispute resolution: Third party allegations of IP infringement whether in copyright, trade marks or passing off, including comparative advertising; and commercial disputes between brands, agencies and production companies.
