I specialise in matters across the sport, media & entertainment and technology sectors. Whether it's navigating high-profile sports sponsorships, advising on cutting-edge media rights deals, or diving into the complexities of emerging technologies like Generative AI and Web 3.0, I work with clients to negotiate complex commercial contracts and commercialise rights in these dynamic sectors.

I'm particularly passionate about the convergence of sport, media and technology and enjoy working at the intersect of these areas. My expertise involves advising on 'IP-rich' issues and delivering specialist regulatory advice to protect my clients and maximise the value of their commercial deals.

  • Advising on player image rights, merchandising, ticketing, fan tokens, ambush marketing and the commercialisation of player data

Media & entertainment

  • Advising major publishers, podcast creators, agencies, talent, advertisers, game developers and digital platforms on a variety of legal matters that impact the media & entertainment sector
  • Advising on talent deals including brand partnerships, content licensing, media rights, advertising & marketing, video game development, broadcast and platform content regulation and gambling regulation
  • Advising on the regulation of virtual currencies and loot boxes, the applicability of UK gambling law to in-game mechanics, online safety, and Web 3 0 and blockchain based games (including the minting of NFTs and cryptocurrency transactions) as one of the firm's dedicated video games specialists
  • Drafting and negotiating the full spectrum of contracts relevant to the video games sector, such as game development and publishing agreements, data and IP licences, talent and image rights agreements, in-game sponsorship and media buying contracts, master revenue share and donation agreements, and bespoke terms of service

Commercial & technology

  • Advising on emerging technologies, particularly Generative AI and Web 3 0 (such as NFTs, the Metaverse and blockchain)
  • Negotiating and drafting a range of commercial contracts, including contracts in respect of IP licensing, SaaS and other software services, media buying, outsourcing, franchising & distribution, advertising & marketing, and creative services agreements
