I have worked as an employment lawyer for over 20 years, in private practice. I currently advise employers on a range of mainly contentious employment issues, as well as day-to-day issues that arise in the workplace. I have a particular interest in grievance and disciplinary processes and in assisting employers to follow them. I also have an interest in neurodiversity in the workplace and advising employers on how best to assist employees with additional challenges they have.
I particularly enjoy Employment Tribunal work, and have a wide caseload. I have experience in most kinds of cases, including all heads of discrimination, unlawful deduction from wages / breach of contract, whistleblowing, unfair (including constructive) dismissal, flexible working and redundancy cases. I have a particular interest in constructive dismissal cases. I have recently worked on several of these, including those involving allegations of unfair treatment, being forced to work in excess of contractual hours, and being expected to work on days outside contractual requirements on job tasks not in the employee's job description.
