I am an Associate in the Employment team at Lewis Silkin. I am based in the Manchester office and joined when the firm kickstarted operations in the North of England in 2022.

I advise and support businesses and individuals in a commercial but down to earth and approachable way, putting the client's interests and objectives at the forefront of my advice on contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

I act for a range of clients, including both household name businesses and local market clients, across a variety of sectors including retail, manufacturing and engineering, financial and professional services, entertainment, technology, and transport.

Experience

Employment

  • Advising HR and management teams on day-to-day people issues such as poor performance, disciplinary, grievance, and redundancy and restructure processes
  • Advising on and conducting settlement discussions including senior exits, and negotiating, and drafting, settlement agreements
  • Handling domestic and international projects, including business restructures and redundancies, and advising on the preparation and implementation and providing guidance throughout the process
  • Providing employment law and HR update and training sessions to businesses on new laws and developing or trending issues

Litigation and investigations

  • Advising on, and managing, Employment Tribunal (and Employment Appeal Tribunal) claims, most commonly defending claims from straightforward unfair dismissal claims to complex, high value, multi-day discrimination and whistleblowing claims
  • Conducting independent workplace investigations into workplace issues, including grievances in relation to discrimination and bullying and harassment allegations, and producing investigation reports with findings and recommendations regarding the complainant and the workplace
