I joined Lewis Silkin as an Associate in 2020 having previously worked in the employment law team of an international law firm.

I have experience advising employers and individuals on the full range of employment legal issues but with particular experience advising employers in relation to complex litigation and multi-jurisdictional projects.

At Lewis Silkin my area of specialism focuses on acting for employers in relation to restrictive covenant breaches, team moves and breaches of confidentiality. I work with clients in a broad range of industries but most commonly those working in financial services.

The government’s planned reform to non-competes was conspicuous by its absence in the King’s Speech on 7 November 2023. There is now much greater uncertainty as to whether any legislation limiting non-compete restrictions to a period of three months will make it to the statute books.

Background: Ravinder Passi was previously employed as Nissan’s Global General Counsel based in Japan. His employment was terminated in November 2020. Mr Passi brought two Employment Tribunal claims, including allegations of whistleblowing, detriment and victimisation (one during – and one following the end of – his employment). On providing his disclosure in connection with these claims, Nissan realised Mr Passi had removed and retained hundreds of highly confidential and privileged documents.
