Michael Burd awarded Who's Who Legal Labour & Employment Award 2016
20 April 2016
Michael Burd, Chair and joint head of employment at law firm Lewis Silkin LLP, has been recognised as pre-eminent in the field of Labour and Employment law globally by Who’s Who Legal.
The award ceremony took place on 11 April at the University Club, New York.
Heralded for his excellence in providing high-quality advice to clients, Michael’s work sees him advising international clients on multi-jurisdictional restructurings and co-ordinating cross-border HR projects, among other complex issues. He is also frequently involved in high level disputes (including through arbitration) and boardroom issues.
Awarded annually, the Who’s Who Legal awards recognise individuals and firms that have performed exceptionally in key practice areas. Identified through wholly independent research and assessment, only those specialists who meet strict international research criteria are eligible for recognition.
In addition to Michael’s award win, a total of ten of Lewis Silkin’s employment lawyers were named in this year’s Who’s Who Legal global guide, more than any other UK firm, further demonstrating the success and international excellence of the practice group. They are Russell Brimelow, Michael Burd, James Davies, Sean Dempsey, Colin Leckey, Steve Lorber, Toni Lorenzo, Richard Miskella, Hannah Price and Ellen Temperton.
Commenting on the award, Michael Burd said:
“We are very gratified by the number of our lawyers listed in the Who’s Who’s Legal guide and, on a personal level, I am both delighted and humbled by my own award win. The award is especially pleasing, as it is based on independent research of peers. Taken together, these recognitions are an excellent reflection of the calibre of expertise and quality of service we provide clients on their global employment and labour needs.”
