Lola will remain a separate, distinct studio in the Milk family, and continue to work on visual effects for factual and drama productions. It has completed work on the likes of Universe (BBC), Dangerous Liaisons (Starz/Lionsgate) and Dinosaurs: The Final Day with David Attenborough (BBC) in the last year.
The combined business represents a significant creative platform with the ability to create a full range of visual effects. The two companies will have a collective capacity of over 300 members of staff who are able to work in both film and TV markets in genres from drama to factual.
The founder of Lola, Rob Harvey, will continue to lead the team as the creative director and VFX supervisor, and will work closely alongside Milk’s board and leadership team.
The Lewis Silkin team was led by Corporate partner, Geraint Tilsley, with support from Joe Lythgoe, Matthew Rowbotham (Tax) and Helen Coombes (Employment).
Commenting on the deal, Lewis Silkin’s Geraint Tilsley said:
“We were delighted to work with Rob Harvey and Rebecca Kelly on this transaction, and to see Lola move forward to an exciting new phase. We look forward to seeing many more high-profile productions emerge from the Lola/Milk stable. We were delighted to have been involved with this transaction which once again demonstrates Lewis Silkin’s expertise in advising clients in the creative sector on M&A transactions.”
