Lewis Silkin has acted for Sopra Steria Ltd on its acquisition of Shared Services Connected Ltd (SSCL), a joint venture founded by Sopra Steria Ltd and the Cabinet Office.
As the joint venture reaches its 10-year anniversary, the Cabinet Office agreed to sell its 25% stake to Sopra Steria, in line with the original contract. SSCL will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Sopra Steria.
Since Sopra Steria founded the company with the Cabinet Office in 2013, SSCL has become the largest provider of critical business support services for the UK Government, Ministry of Defence, Metropolitan Police Service, and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), delivering shared services at scale.
Lewis Silkin’s team was led by corporate partner Paul Rajput with support from corporate partner Geraint Tilsley.
Paul Rajput, Partner and Head of Corporate commented on the transaction:
We’re delighted to continue to support Sopra Steria on M&A matters in the UK. They provide one of the most comprehensive portfolios of end-to-end service offerings for their clients and it’s great to see them further enhance their capabilities with another acquisition. Advising clients on M&A in the consulting, digital services and software development sectors is a speciality of the Lewis Silkin Tier 1 ranked M&A team.
