The Lewis Silkin Corporate team has advised its client, Dictate IT, on its acquisition by Irish healthcare, technology and services group, Clanwilliam Group. The Lewis Silkin cross-departmental team have been incredibly busy in 2018, working end-to-end on the full spectrum of corporate transactions within the technology sector, and the success of this acquisition shall further boost the teams reputation within the sector.

London-headquartered Dictate IT provides digital dictation, outsourced transcription, and speech recognition services to 27 healthcare providers in the UK and Ireland. Its solutions are used by more than 30,000 clinicians daily to create, store and distribute outpatient clinical reports. As a result of the sale, Dictate IT will be able to expand its reach, make further investments in its solution and realise all the benefits of partnering with other companies in the Group to strengthen its market position.

The cross departmental Lewis Silkin team that advised on the transaction was led by corporate partner Paul Rajput, supported by tax partner Matthew Rowbotham, commercial partner James Gill, senior associate Gavin McNaughton, associates Jack Baldwin, Oliver Watson and trainee Elyssia White.

Commenting on the transaction, Mark Miller, Founder of Dictate IT, said:

"I would recommend Lewis Silkin without hesitation. A sale of a company is, for most, the culmination of many years of work and the outcome of the sale will likely define much of the hope and aspiration for the years ahead. It is important to get it right and to choose people who are totally committed to the best outcome. The Lewis Silkin team work extremely hard, are capable and knowledgeable and involve themselves in every aspect of the transaction. They maintain a steady focus on the outcome and a good humour which is important when dealing with things over which so much importance is attached.”

Commenting on the transaction, lead partner Paul Rajput said:

"We were delighted to represent Mark and the team at Dictate IT. It’s an incredibly exciting growth opportunity for the team at Dictate IT and we wish them well for the future. The Lewis Silkin corporate team has had a busy year completing multiple tech M&A transactions, which was made possible by collaborating with our excellent commercial/tech/IP team.”
