04 September 2020
Lewis Silkin has advised the management team of Be Heard Group on their ongoing terms with MSQ following the acquisition of Be Heard Group by MSQ.
Originally announced in June but completed this week following shareholder and court approval, the deal creates a group with an impressive roster of agencies – Be Heard’s MMT Digital (tech and digital transformation), Freemavens (data analytics/insight) and Agenda21 (digital media) adding to MSQ’s Holmes & Marchant (branding and design), Smarts (PR and content), Stack (customer acquisition and engagement), Stein IAS (B2B marketing), The Gate/ Walk-In Media (creative and media) and twentysix (digital).
The Lewis Silkin team was led by corporate partner Sam Pennington and tax partner Matthew Rowbotham, with assistance from corporate associate, Joe Lythgoe.
Commenting on the deal, Ben Rudman (past COO of Be Heard and now COO of MSQ) said:
“Sam, Matthew and Joe did a fantastic job helping to steer the senior management team through the complexities and documentation of the transaction. Some elements were a particular challenge in this virtual working environment, but the Lewis Silkin team were fully adapted and offered the same high standard, personable service levels that Be Heard have become accustomed to from them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sam, Matthew and the Lewis Silkin team”.
Commenting on the deal, Sam Pennington said:
"Lewis Silkin has a long history with BHG, having been involved in their own buy-and -buiId and it was a pleasure to see the management through the process and into the next stage as part of the enlarged MSQ. It was particularly pleasing to see the acquisition proceed confidently during these uncertain times. I wish Ben and the management team all the very best for their future with MSQ”.
