In this live webinar we reflect on the fact that, as the pandemic abates, our “new normal” is likely to involve commercial risk and an increase in disputes. In light of these risks, we will consider some practical trends that are likely to emerge and how those trends will affect the resolution of disputes.
A panel hosted by Andrew Wanambwa, a Partner in our dispute resolution team, will discuss these trends from three different perspectives:
- The litigation funding perspective – Matthew Amey, Director at The Judge on current trends in litigation funding/insurance and how alternative fee arrangements can help business as the pandemic subsides.
- The tech perspective – Nick Conway, Forensic Partner at Deloitte on how technology is affecting the general practise of law, the growing trend for technology simplification and how technology can enhance the efficiency of how disputes are conducted.
- The in-house perspective – Ian Cokayne, Senior Solicitor and in-house litigator at Grant Thornton UK LLP on what in-house lawyers look for in engaging external counsel, how they decide what to outsource and the challenges facing in-house lawyers in the short and medium term.
This event is aimed at in-house lawyers, contract managers and others who are involved in avoiding or handling contractual risk.
