A safe return to work during the Covid-19 pandemic requires employers to have knowledge about the health of both employees and visitors to the workplace. But health information is confidential and can only be processed under data protection laws in specific circumstances.
What steps can Irish employers take to monitor health in the workplace, including information about symptoms, diagnosis and immunity?
In what circumstances can employers carry out testing, and what are the legal risks? And how, if at all, can employers use contact tracing apps?
This webinar session will look at how to balance health and safety obligations with data protection rights in Ireland including the recent guidance issued by the Data Protection Commission.
In this session we will cover:
- Handling sensitive employee data while managing a safe return to work
- Contact tracing apps and data protection issues
- Introducing contact tracing apps, Covid-19 and/or temperature testing and other AI technology in the workplace
- The future of remote working and managing the data security issues remote working brings
