I’m an employment solicitor, specialising in training on employment law.
I have been at Lewis Silkin since 2010 and was a senior associate in the team before transitioning to my legal training role. My experience as an employment solicitor means that I am able to draw on the many practical issues that can arise in the workplace and how best to navigate them within the law.
I deliver training for both managers and HR professionals, across a range of different industries. The manager courses focus in particular on diversity and discrimination issues, disciplinaries and grievances, performance management and sickness absence. The training I do always takes into account the client’s particular needs, and uses both written and filmed case studies to ensure an interactive and lively session. Crucially, it also allows individual managers to share their own experiences with one another, to ensure a consistent management approach to the thorny issues that can arise day to day.
I also co-present our HR Academy with my fellow trainers Lucy Hendley and Pia Sanchez, a course aimed at HR professionals to provide a comprehensive and practical grounding in employment law, as well as highlighting the many updates to employment law. Again, this course uses interactive case studies to ensure that all topics covered are considered in the most practical way possible.
