Our specialists advise on a broad spectrum of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) topics, and address some of today’s most pressing HR and legal issues.

Our DE&I services include:

  • Supporting clients to devise and roll out DE&I strategies
  • Advising on employee resource groups (ERGs)
  • Measures to address under-representation
  • Advising on conflict in the workplace involving alleged discrimination
  • Leading on employment tribunal litigation including claims of discrimination, harassment and victimisation
  • Statutory obligations for employers in Northern Ireland

We provide strategic advice on all DE&I issues, such as handling intricate grievances, navigating discrimination risks in redundancy processes or dealing with sickness absence cases.

Organisations are facing an increasing focus on pay transparency and equal pay. Our specialist team can help you to conduct equal pay reviews and audits, manage legal risks, and ensure that you’re compliant with pay reporting requirements globally.

In addition, our dedicated training team can provide tailored HR, manager and all-staff training on key DE&I topics, including respectful workplace behaviour, anti-harassment, unconscious bias and allyship skills. We also frequently lead sessions on family rights and flexible working, empowering organisations to foster inclusive cultures and meet their equality obligations, on the island of Ireland, in the UK and worldwide.

Pay Transparency Directive

We offer a complete service to help you prepare for the Pay Transparency Directive, which requires employers to publish average gender pay gaps within their organisations.

The big issue facing employers is the requirement to calculate and report gender pay gaps within employee "categories” (those performing the same or equivalent work). If disparities exceed 5% within any category and lack objective justification, or are not rectified within a specific time period, as an employer you must conduct joint pay assessments - a mandatory form of equal pay audit - consulting with employee representatives.

Our specialist employment lawyers and job evaluation experts can help you with difficult categorisation issues. We also have data scientists (with years of experience in gender pay gap reporting and pay equity) ready to provide support.
