I am a Data & Privacy Associate in Lewis Silkin’s Data, Privacy & Cyber team.

Prior to joining Lewis Silkin, I have five years of experience as a privacy professional both in-house and at a full-service private practice firm. I also have experience as an Employment & Business Immigration paralegal. I have assisted clients with implementation of the Data Mapping, PIA & DPIA and Privacy Rights Automation products in One Trust and have previously completed the CIPP/E certification.

I have advised a variety of high-profile clients in financial services on privacy compliance and security matters such as privacy notices, DPIAs, ROPAs, marketing consent, data loss, data protection agreements and mandatory e-learning. I have helped clients respond to a variety of privacy rights requests, including the right to erasure and objection to marketing, DSARs and ICO complaints relating to direct marketing.

Examples of my recent work include:

  • assisting a university with implementing and updating organisational data protection policies relating to data subject rights, information security, retention and personal data processing, and responding to subject access requests from past employees, students and members of the public;
  • advising a wealth management firm on improving its DPIA pre-screening templates, drafting DPIAs for high-risk employee and consumer data processing, automating its ROPA in One Trust and providing ad hoc data protection advice;
  • advising a global hotel client on regulatory, consumer law and data protection compliance of its websites following its acquisition of a UK/EU business including amending global privacy notices and ensuring compliance with cookie and accessibility laws;
  • working with the information security team at a bank to assess data loss incidents, recommend post-incident mitigation and evaluate whether the threshold for notifying the ICO was met.

I am also a weekly Companion Calls volunteer at Alzheimer’s society to help reduce loneliness and isolation in people with dementia in the UK.
