Jonathan's expertise

 Employment

Although part of my role as a partner involves managing client relationships, I am still very much a hands-on lawyer. My clients range across all industry sectors although in recent years I have developed a focus on financial services businesses, particularly hedge funds and overseas banks

Both Chambers and Legal 500 have ranked me as a leading individual in employment law for a number of years with the latter referring to me as a ‘superb all-rounder’. I am a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and co-founded and chaired Lewis Silkin’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee which is another area of specialist interest for me and a subject with many crossovers to employment law and employer best practice. I am also an occasional commentator on employment law issues for BBC Radio and in the national press as well as presenting on employment law topics at both Lewis Silkin and external conference events.

 Partnership & LLP

I have a number of partnership and LLP clients mainly from the legal and financial services sectors, as well as experience of advising individual partners and LLP members. Recent matters have included advising a hedge fund on the removal/retirement of an LLP member and related remuneration issues, advising a law firm on breaches of fiduciary duties and confidentiality obligations by an LLP member and reviewing and revising restrictive covenant obligations under various LLP agreements.
