A lot of my time is spent handling complex Employment Tribunal litigation such as whistleblowing and discrimination cases, and in advising on sensitive HR issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, negotiated exits and performance management.
My clients come from many different sectors but there are perhaps a majority from the retail sector and creative industries. Recently, I spent 8 months seconded to one of the UK’s best-known retailers assisting the in-house legal and HR teams.
Examples of my recent work include advising on a whistleblowing claim in the music industry, defending a retail employer against a racial harassment claim and resolving a number of difficult situations for various employers through negotiated exits.
Many of my clients are multinationals. My international work has included advising an American company on the employment issues connected with the set up of its UK subsidiary and liaising with foreign lawyers on multi-jurisdictional projects.
