I am an associate in Lewis Silkin’s Brands and IP, Commercial and Data Privacy practice groups with particular expertise in the advertising & marketing sector.

I qualified as an associate in the Commercial team of a large City law firm in 2014, after studying History at Queens’ College, Cambridge and completing the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School in London. I joined Lewis Silkin in the summer of 2016 following 18 months working in-house at a national newspaper group where I supported the advertising & marketing, technology and business development departments.

Commercial

I have experience advising clients on commercial agreements and regulatory compliance across a number of areas, including advertising & marketing, social media, e-commerce and m-commerce and technology. I also have specialist knowledge of consumer laws and regulations and ASA requirements having been responsible for all consumer facing terms and conditions and marketing campaigns during my previous role working in-house at a national newspaper group.

Brands & Intellectual Property

I advise across a range of intellectual property rights, including trade marks, passing-off, copyright, and design rights. In the advertising & marketing sector, I advise a range of clients on the use of music and other works protected by copyright in ad campaigns. I also draft and negotiate various intellectual property licences and release forms for brands, agencies and production companies. More broadly, I have experience advising brands on how best to protect and exploit their valuable intellectual property. I also draft and negotiate complex and high value licence agreements and assignments across a wide range of sectors, from technology to retail to corporate transactions.

Data & Privacy

I advise on a broad range of data protection issues in the consumer context, including direct marketing, use and transfers of customer data, privacy and cookie policies, website terms of use and end user license agreements.

Advertising & Marketing

I have experience advising on a broad range of advertising-related matters, including regulatory compliance, copy advice, branded content, talent and sponsorship agreements, prize promotions, ambush marketing and intellectual property rights. I also have expertise in the adtech sector.
