I advise on many areas of employment and partnership law. I have a particular focus in dealing with high level disputes in the employment tribunal, high court and through arbitration often, in the professional services sector and involving issues of discrimination.
Whilst my practice covers many aspects of employment and partnership law, I specialise in advising on senior terminations, complex discrimination and equal opportunities issues and high court employment issues such as restrictive covenants.
Many of my clients are in the professional services and creative sectors. A significant proportion of my work is advising law firms on their own internal HR issues and representing them in employment tribunal and arbitration proceedings. I have undertaken a secondment to an international law firm during which I advised on employee relations issues and internal equal opportunities policies.
Examples of my work include: defending an international law firm against discrimination proceedings brought by a former partner, acting for a US law firm in an employment tribunal claim involving allegations of whistleblowing and discrimination and acting for a group of defendants in the insurance broking sector in high court proceedings following a team move.
Partnerships & LLPs
As part of my work with professional services firms I advise on partnership law issues. These include issues relating to retirement, expulsion, discrimination and partnership/employment status.
Much of my work is for professional services firms. In particular, I act for a number of law firms both in relation to their internal employment, partnership and LLP issues.
As part of my work in the law firms sector, I setup the Up and Coming Legal HR Network which facilitates networking opportunities for HR professionals in this sector.
