I am an Associate specialising in employment law. I studied, trained and qualified as a lawyer in Bristol and joined Lewis Silkin upon qualification in 2012.
A typical day in the office is likely to include advice on a wide variety of employment law topics: defending employment tribunal claims; managing exits including settlement agreement proposals and terms; obligations regarding disabled employees; undertaking capability processes; performance management issues; dealing with employee disputes and employee relations matters (including disciplinary and grievance procedures); implementing individual and collective redundancy proposals; and developing employee law policies.
I have a particular interest in workplace mediation and am an accredited mediator. I have acted as mediator in a number of successful mediations for a variety of clients.
I have considerable experience in managing employment tribunal litigation, having dealt with claims for unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, discrimination (including disability, sex, age, race and sexual orientation discrimination), holiday pay, unauthorised deduction from wages, breach of contract and whistleblowing.
