I am a commercial lawyer specialising in all aspects of the music and
media fields. I started working in the entertainment business in 1990
enjoying six years working in the industry for a superstar DJ,
BMG/Perfecto, and Warner Music’s Elektra Entertainment in NYC. Post
qualification I specialised in entertainment law and co-founded my own law
firm and worked with an extensive list of internationally renowned
recording artists, songwriters, producers, DJs, dancers, models and
presenters as well as record, publishing, merchandise and management
companies. Since 2009 I have mixed my legal practice with entertainment
industry positions including Group Managing Director of the SPZ
Entertainment Group of Companies and Managing Director of RME/Sony
Music. I am also the Founder of the Happy Tenant Company residential
asset management business.
Outside of work over the last 6 years I have become an expert in changing nappies.
Media & Entertainment
Over the last 20 or so years I have represented a wide range of clients from new and emerging talent through to some of the very biggest names in the music and entertainment business. I have particular expertise in the merchandising industry having spent over a decade advising U2’s merchandise company (De-Lux) and Universal Group’s Bravado Merchandise. In addition I have cultivated reputation in brand partnerships including being credited with negotiating the first ever global band/brand partnership deal while representing long standing client Groove Armada in their 2008 deal with Bacardi and most recently in this space having been instructed by one of the world’s biggest telecoms company to advise on their brand partnership deals in relation to the worldwide launch of their new consumer smartphone.
