Trainee Applications - Eligibility

We are interested to hear from you if you are a second year law student, final year non-law student, a graduate or someone looking to change career. You will also need excellent academics.

To secure a training contract with us you will need to demonstrate commercial awareness, people skills and career focus. We aim to develop our trainees into the future leaders of the firm so cultural fit is key. We concentrate our efforts on finding the right individual, someone who possesses all the skills and attributes of our existing top talent. When reviewing applications we give as much attention to your extra-curricular activities as we do to your academics. We do not have an automated filtering process; we review every single application thoroughly.

London Spring Workshop/Open Evening Application Process: 2 Stage Process

Opening date: 8 December 2017

Deadline: 31 January 2018

Stage 1 - Online Application Form

You will need to provide your full academic record and work experience history. We also like to hear about your interest in Lewis Silkin, your positions of responsibility and your extra-curricular activities.

Stage 2 - Video Interview

If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to complete a short online video interview and will be given a set time to answer each question.

Cardiff Vacation Scheme Process: 1 stage process

Opening date: Monday 9 April 2018

Deadline: Monday 30 April 2018

Stage 1 - Submit CV and statement

You will need to submit a detailed CV with a 250 word statement explaining why you would like to attend the vacation scheme with Lewis Silkin by email to train@lewissilkin.com.

Training Contract Application Process: 3 stage process

Opening date: 15 March 2018

Deadline: 15 June 2018

Stage 1 - Online Application Form

You will need to provide your full academic record and work experience history. We also like to hear about your interest in Lewis Silkin, your positions of responsibility and your extra-curricular activities.

Stage 2 - Video Interview and Pre-Assessment Day Testing

We shortlist up to 50 applicants to complete our pre-selection assessments, this includes a short online video interview, a written case study and an aptitude test. Our written case study is an exercise designed by our Partners. It is not a test of your legal knowledge or commercial acumen but how you analyze and disseminate information.

Stage 3 - Assessment Centre

Our assessment centre is usually on a Saturday in July and consists of two interviews with partners and senior management as well as a group exercise with other candidates. You will also get an opportunity to have lunch with our existing trainees and a tour of the building so you can find out more about us.

Offer

If you are successful you will receive an offer within a few days of the assessment centre. Feedback will be provided only to those candidates who attend the assessment centre.
