Sports Immigration & Transfers

We have in depth knowledge of the international and domestic regulation of football, advising football clubs, players and agents on structuring and documenting transfer deals in countries all over the world, including complex loan and sell on arrangements.

We also advise football clubs, agents, international federations and individual players and their families on all aspects of immigration to the UK and global travel. Our experience allows us to quickly assess eligibility and to spot issues before they develop into problems. We have an extensive network of contacts at the Home Office and worldwide which help us to offer practical and commercial solutions - meaning our clients can get the players, coaches and backroom staff they need with a minimum of fuss. We also have access to Spanish, Russian, French, Chinese and Japanese speakers on the team.

We are also market leaders in advising on third party investment in football, having acted for some of the world’s biggest investment funds for several years.

Examples of our recent work include advising:

  • seven Premier League and a number of Championship football clubs on player immigration matters
  • a leading UK football agency on a transfer deal involving temporary loan and future sell on arrangements with clubs in three different countries
  • match agents on the immigration aspects of an international exhibition match between Brazil and Argentina in China
  • a number of football clubs on arrangements for pre and post season tours and Champions League and Europe League fixtures
  • an international Rugby union on immigration issues for its coaching staff
